|• 1 medium onion chopped|
|• 2 can chopped green chiles (fresh are better), jalapenos for the brave|
|• 1 Cup lard (go ahead, it won"t hurt you!!)|
|• 1 can crushed tomatos (15oz)|
|• 1 Tbs basil (if fresh, use 3). Cilantro works well, too!!|
|• 1 Pinch salt (to taste)|
|• 1 Pinch pepper(to taste)|
Add the onions, basil and peppers and lard to a medium sauce pan. Cook on medium heat until the lard is melted. Pour in the tomatos, add the salt and pepper. Stir frequently until well mixed. Don't cook on too high heat to avoid scorching. Cook about an hour or until it thickens.
