Drip Pans - Make or buy or no drip pan?

I currently buy/use a aluminum serving pan as a drip pan. Its about 9 x 12 x 3. I serve my pulled pork in it, then wash, and use as a drip pan .. maximizing my use/cost ratio. Anyway, I can only squeeze 4 butts in my large becuase I want all the drippings to go into the pan (I hate it when they run down the side). [p]What does everyone else do? Make a pan out of HD aluminum foil or buy bigger pans or just lettm' burn on the platesetter?[p]Pictures would help me visualize ... there was a post below where someone put 6 butts on a large ... I would love to see the set up and "clean up" afterwards.[p]Doug

Smoked Signals, I use disposable round foil pizza pans with the plate setter. If I need the drippings I line a large round pan* with foil. Round grill - round drip pans. Julie[p]* I use a Nordicware pan like the one YB uses to cook the bacon wrapped watermelon rinds.

Smoked Signals,
i use a 13 inch carbon steel paella pan as a drip pan, seafood casserole pan, deep dish pizza pan etc. larger ones could be used, but the handles would need to be bent or removed. lined with foil for easy cleanup. could be used for paellas too, they have a slightly dished bottom with dimples to hold oil under bread, rice etc

Smoked Signals,[p]I rarely use a drip pan so I guess I fall into the category of just letting it burn on the plate setter. Not a mess to clean up, its charred enough after the cook to just scrape off easily and what runs into the fire burns anyway. Have never really been a fan of the drip pan, just such a mess to cleanup no matter how you slice it.[p]Troy

J Appledog,[p]Where do you buy your round foil pizza pans?[p]Thanks.[p]Ed

I buy them at the grocery store, GrillMeister.

You could also buy a paella pan and either cover it with foil each time you use it or designate it for the BGE. JCA

Smoked Signals, how about a 2 inch deep dish pizza pan, 16 inch fits perfectly in large platsetter. I got it at a local supply store. Tom[p]

Sandbagger,
Now that's what I am talkin about ... maybe my local pizza joint has one or knows where I can get one.[p]Very cool and extra large ... more dripping area = more butts in the egg.[p]Thanks!

Smoked Signals, Let me know if you have trouble finding it. I am always looking for a reason to visit the store. They are aluminum and come in other sizes: I think the other one I have is a 14 inch, or in pizza terminology, a medium.

How about an Alum pie pan. I have a SBGE (small) and it is 9" across. Which accessories are a must vs Nice To Have? Thanks.
