Watching an episode of chopped where every course must include grilling. They gave them those cast grill plates on top of a gas stove, then the judges complain that there isn't enough smoky flavor. Give them a real grill and they might be able to do something good. 2 contestants tried to cedar plank fish and the crappy "grill" wasn't hot enough.
Between this and Best in Smoke I'm not sure FoodTV understands BBQ or grilling.
Hopefully Bobby Flays new BBQ show will be worth watching.
