Can anyone suggest a good bread recipe? Sort of on the rustic side

I have never made it on the egg but this recipe for SHREDDED WHEAT BREAD could be called rustic and is an old family favorite. It is no more difficult that any other bread recipe and has a wonderful sweet flavor.

Look up Dutch oven bread, it's very good in the egg, and rustic. I bake a lot of bread on the egg. Just use any recipe you like and set the temp, indirect. Or do legs Down, spacer, baking stone with formed dough on stone, just like pizza.

Here is a link to the recipe and method that I have been using...

I would suggest the NY time no knead bread recipe, which you can find easily by googling. It's easy and foolproof. But you need to start a day ahead.

I may give this one a try today.

Hoss, that sounds really good and fast too! Let us know how that works out. Are you going to put it on a cold egg and then light the egg?
It would be a great thing to cook while you wait for the egg to get up to temp for your meat or other food. Of course, then the bread will be all gone before the meat is done but at least you have something to eat while you're cooking!
Hmmmm, I might make this today. I wish it was warm outside. Overcast and cold here today (and every other day). Just not fun grilling weather.
Gwen, wising for warmth on Whidbey -
It is in the oven now.92,sunny and humid here.

I ended up not making it. I didn't want to back the egg down from 400 to 275 after baking the bread and I didn't have enough lump to fire up the second egg. So hopefully sometime in the future.
It's still overcast here but is not cold right now. I'd go outside and pull weeds ex I sliced my finger on Friday and it's a rather nasty cut so not really wanting to do stuff that might pollute the wound.
