    TRPIV,

You are better than that! What is being cheered is an event that brings a little closure to thousands of American families. He was buried in accordance with Islamic law and his body was not publically desecrated as would be the case the other way round.

I agree with you TRPIV but we are not better then that, this is a media and politicians field day. Nothing more. He could have been put to much better use alive then he can be now. Iconic figures killed are martyrs, kept alive and used can be an asset. Killing is always a cop out for a more intelligent solution. We are still a primitive tribe. JMHO.

No way, i repeat, NO DAMN WAY he was going to be taken alive. And on the rare, rare possibility I am wrong on this, there is NO DAMN WAY he would be of any assistance to us.

Of the many things that make me feel good about this, the death of that snake wasn't caused by a drone, an air srike or some other high tech hit, but by "boots on the ground", a team of Navy SEALS going in there and drilling the dude and hauling his sorry ass out! Yes, God bless our military!

No Max! There is a lot I can learn from them. :ermm:

Simply put them in quarantine and I'll go get the water boards and we'll see what we can learn.

On second hand I probably wouldn't get it anyway so go ahead. :woohoo:

You have a right to your opinion just as much as anybody here including me and I respect that to the fullest. I did not say that he would give us his assistance, LOL, but there is no reason we couldn't have taken it from him to suit our wishes. Now we have no options and he has probably risen to the level of a Deity in the eyes of his own people. His suffering was short and sweet. A quick un-suffering death is probably better then many of us will get and we handed it to him on a silver platter. Nice going, he couldn't have asked for any better. It is easier to be an agnostic or an atheist then to even try to follow the Word as it was handed down to us. As the president says "God bless America and the American people . . ." we may just need it. We have children going hungry in this country and millions with out proper health care and yet the American people continue to elect the same politicians to Congress that can't find their a$$ with both hands. If we could get as worked up over the state of this country as we have over the death of one terrorist maybe we would be as great as we think we are. JMHO.

Don't get bent over my opinions Fidel, that is all they are, my opinions. They have no more bearing then anybody else's and are not going to influence anybody. Dust in the wind has more substance than anything said here. ;)

[tounge-in-cheek-font]...to be celebrating the misfortune of others. Honestly, who is thinking about the 72 luckless virgins? They could have gotten some 18 year old brainwashed suicide bomber. But no...yesterday morning, 72 virgins got assigned to bin Laden detail. Grieve for them, you heartless fools.[/tounge-in-cheek-font]

While I don't quite understand the correlation between Osama catching a 9mm between the ears and healthcare, I'll ask you for one point of clarification.

Who in this country does not have access to healthcare?

There are many of use with out health care or adequate health care. I myself have health care comparable to a third world country or less! I have multiple disabilities and multiple serious health issues on top of them and have not been able to see a specialist to get the proper care of any of them in many years. The only health care I can afford is the local clinic where I see a 2 bit family physician who has never looked at my medical records. The clinic administration has adapted a policy of not filling out Patient Assistance Program application forms so I have had to give up one of my best diabetes medications. Due to the lose of that medication my blood sugars are out of control and the doctor is saying I will probably have to go on insulin. If I had decent health care this would not be an issue and would not be threatened with having to go on insulin for administrative reasons. I use myself as one simple example and am sure that there are millions out there that are in far worse situations. During the Vietnam draft I was labeled a reject, 4-F, because of my physical problems and was denied access to the military and veterans benefits, now that I am older the government denies me any assistance because I my income is $20 more than what is allowed. The maximum allowable income is $694 a month, you can keep your house and your car but can only have $2000 in resources above and beyond that. Thats a maximum annual income of $8,328 and don't plan on hanging on to anything for retirement because it will only disqualify you. I am not alone and the system sucks! But then that is JMHO.

    Blair,

My younger sister has Downs syndrome. She also suffers from Crohns disease. I get upset every year when the forms come out that requires me to prove that she hasen't been cured of the Down's and that she has no more than $5,000 in the bank. They always cut off her drug coverage if I am late and I have to phone and straighten things out. Her disability pension is about $800 a month and her drugs, dental and hearing are all completely covered. I have my complaints about our medical system but when I hear stories like your's I am glad I live where I do. Hopefully things will get better for you my friend.

Hi Steve, Thank God your sister gets the care she does, my prayers for her happiness and well being. I can understand your frustrations and take my hat off to you for your diligence at preserving her care. She is lucky to have you.

Thanks Steve, my story is not unique, I was talking to a lady the other day who has a daughter in North Carolina I think it was that is type 2 diabetic and is on insulin. Her daughter has already lost both her legs to the disease, is unable to work and has to pay over $300 a month for her insulin! She has to take 7 shots a day! You can find stories like hers anywhere this side of the border. I would love to be able to work and pay for great health care but after 3 major heart attacks at age 45-when I found I was diabetic, premature cataracts due to diabetes(taken care of), sever hearing loss most of my life, sever neuropathy-I haven't worn long pants in many years, congenital birth defects in all my joints from the knees down and the list goes on. Diabetes and age are destroying my teeth and I have lost more then I have left. It cost me $100 for a consultation with the clinics dentist so he could tell me it would cost $250 for an extraction or $650 for a root canal, I had enough trouble finding the fee for the consultation and went home to my over the counter pain killers. I am an insurance liability and our government still classifies me as unworthy of help. This is a system that you can not fight and expect to win , we do the best we can. If something doesn't change I and may others will die younger then we need to. Hahahahaha, me care about Bin Laden, I don't think so.

OK, I'll retire from my soap box, I hate dead horses anyways.

I understand why your system is the way it is and agree with part of it. Same as I agree with ours but don't understand why I can't buy extra insurance for my key people and myself to get quicker service for the purposes of income. The idea of a two tier system is abhorrent to some Canadians but the burden would be reduced on public health care and more money would flow into the pot. Everyone would get care and the overall would be better. We lose the cream of our health care professionals to the US because, God forbid, they can make a living there. This is in spite of the fact that their education and internships are subsidised. There are those that take advantage of our system for the purposes of income and many that have never paid a dime towards the system reap the benefits. Hard to say what the right approach is. Just seems a lot of folks seem to fall in the bureaucratic cracks there. Again, God Bless and I hope you are able to find a way to get the care you deserve.

you'd think that, for a top-level manager like steven, the good folks at Keebler would have a decent healthcare benefit in place.

Thanks Steven, I have learned that the best care I can get is the care I can give myself. I am watching my diet like a hawk in hopes that will keep the insulin dogs at bay for a while. :)

This is one of those cases where superficial similarities belie a deep fundmental difference. Those West Bank cretins on 9/11 were cheering the deaths of thousands of people whose crime was nothing more than showing up for work that day (despite the surreal gurglings of the loathsome Ward Churchill). Today's celebration was the administration of justice to the mass murderer who slaughtered those poor folks ten years ago.

IOW, pushing an old lady in front of a bus is not the same as pushing her out from in front of a bus.
