ABT

I went ahead and made up some ABT last night. I put them in a dish and covered it with Saran Wrap. Is that okay to prepare them the night before, or am I going to take away from the taste?

    Morning Eggsnert,
The flavors of ABT's are not that subtle, they should be fine in the refer overnight.

Eggsnert,[p]No worries. I usually put them together ahead of time so when guests are over I can just throw then on.[p]-ChrisC
  • Eggsnert,
ABTs reheat fine. But I gotta say that I've had my share cold and straight from the fridge! That's high on my list of favorite breakfasts!

Eggsnert, it appears we are taking your question two ways...do you mean you prepared them last time and remain in a raw state to be grilled today or did you actually grill them and then refrigerate? Either way is fine. Normally I'll set aside the time to make several dozen at a time. I then go ahead and grill them and have snacks for a couple weeks - after all they are cooked. I just nuke a couple at a time at 14 seconds and you'd think they just came off the grill.

  • Eggsnert,
What is an ABT? Do they grow here in the Ozarks?

  • Essex County,
It's ok, really. I can handle it.[p]but it is kind of pathetic when you reply to your own posts.

Essex County,[p]mmm cold ABTs for breakfast...[p]What I've done is diced them up a bit and put them into an omlette - now there's a breakfast treat! Bacon, cream cheese, pepper, a bit of smoke - yum![p]Chuck
