I like to get all drumettes at publix. I will put them in a zip lock bag with a bbq marinade and them grill them off. They need little sauce that way. Besides, I prefer bbq wings over hot wings
  • Thanks! Any specific marinade that you like?
  • Grill your wings like you normally would (direct heat 350-400 raised grid is how i do it) get that good egg flavor in there. Once the wings are done dust them with Tony's Cajun sea food seasoning and a light amount of garlic powder. Don't season before you cook the Tony's will burn. If you like good dry wings this is full proof. Be careful tho too much tony's or garlic powder will ruin the wings. Good luck

Tasty Licks Wings - toss the wings with rub, let sit overnight uncovered in the fridge, then low and slow on the Egg.

this is my current favorite, i think wise one posted it, rrp tweaked it, i changed it again as i like it hotter and added a buffalo sauce

3 to 4 pounds wings cut into drums and wingetts

    marinate 48 hours or longer
1/2 bottle franks, 12 ounce bottle
    3/8 cups red wine vinegar
    3/8 cups soy sauce
    1 cup water
    1/2 cup v8 juice
    1 tsp tobasco
    1 tbls chipotle pepper powder

grill direct raised grid 325 to 375 flipping and rotating as needed, overcook them ;)

    buffalo sauce

    warm up
    1/2 bottle franks
    1/2 stick butter
    1 tsp chipotle powder
    some tabasco

put sauce in a big mixing bowl, add wings and toss, dump back on grill, one big dump and move them out quickly as you dont want the fire ro get to big with an open dome, cook til the sauce sets up a little, serve with celery and blue cheese dressing

After all of these years, I still find it hard to beat Smokin' Eddie's Wa Wa wings from the BGE archives.

  • Those spicy wings look amazing!
  • I've used the Butt Rub several times on wings - very good! I've got to try some Texas Petes!
  • Thanks fishlessman! I'm going to make this recipe soon. I demo wings at our BBQ shop regularly to show off the BGE line - this is a direction in flavor I haven't gone yet...thanks!
  • Good stuff there! Thanks for the link.
  • Where can a person find Obie's seasoning? Looks like a good simple recipe! Thanks for the comments.
