First Butt on the egg!!

Well today's the day....Gonna work on the egg table and cook my first butt on the egg. Been playing around all week with little pork chops and tenderloins and now it's time for the big Pork!! Looking forward to slow cooking all day.
Any Suggestions?

You better get a move on. It can take many hours depending on size and temp. I usally start mine the night before.

Should have mentioned, Butt's already on....Threw it on around 9. Thinking it'll cook about 10 hrs. Slow, around 250 ish. ??

What size is it? 10-15 hours probably.

if you get hungry this afternoon. you can always bump temp. up to 350 or so and rush it up, but nothing like a long slow cook if you have the time.

I am going to cook up a 4 pounder for the wife and I on Monday. It is very satisfying cooking a hunk o meat for a long period of time... even though you don't really touch it after you shove the probe in it!

It will turn out great!!! Hopefully you have some time before you eat to foil it for a while to let it rest!
