Pizza- can you freeze?

new egger..made pizza twice with good results. Current discussion with Wifey about going ahead and prepping additional pie(s) and freezing them uncooked. We've used storebought dough, which is fine with us. Is frozen pie ok when thawed and then egged? Thanks..

you could try it...I'd cook it frozen and wouldn't let it thaw out.

I would suggest trying to make your own dough using this recipe http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&func=view&id=987401&catid=1#, then freeze it instead of putting it in the refrigerator. You should let the dough thaw for at least 12 hours, maybe 24, before using it. It seems you would lose a lot of flavor and quality if you tried freezing a whole pie. Let us know how it works out.

I break the dough up into the size balls I will be using (by weight) then put them in Ziploc bags and spray with a little PAM. They freeze (and cook) fine. You do want to give them plenty of time to thaw, though.New Orleans LA
