Temperature different thermapen and guru

I used the bbq guru to make a prime rib the other night. However when I double checked the temp with a thermapen the guru food temp and pen were about 8-10 degrees different. I'm going to test both to see what is up. Is there a way to calibrate the guru? Also has anyone had a thermapen being off? I know they are known for their quality. Thanks

How did you check the temps of the 2 thermometers at the same time???...

Were the probes in different places in the meat? Perhaps one was deeper than the other, or in a fat pocket, or closer to the bone?
Check both probes in a known temp (boiling water) and that will let you know if one or either is off. And yes, there is a way to calibrate the guru. The instructions are in the instruction manual available online on the bbqguru site. -
Nevermind.

except that is an entirely different device from the BBQ Guru

Whoops! I was thinking of a previous post. Sorry I sent the stoker link.
I think it varies by model, but thebbqguru.com website has all the manuals posted just click on your model to find them.
The link for they CyberQ manual is below. Pages 17 & 18 show how for that model.

I had one in the meat all the time and the thermapen in hand. I'm sure they are both correct due to like someone suggested in different places. I'm going to check them both for the heck of it anyway. I just foung the way to calibrate the guru if needed. Thanks to everyone for there help.
