Is the Daisy Wheel covered under the BGE warranty or only the ceramic parts?

hmmm, first cracked Daisy I've ever heard of except for user error in dropping it, which would not be a warranty triggering event.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I dropped mine and broke an ear off it, bought a new one then used JB weld to glue the old one back and it's still holding after 1 1/2 years.

Mine fell off the first time we used it after buying my medium egg at the Texas Eggfest last year. It cracked slightly and is now rusting eventhough my egg is always covered. We thought every part of the egg was covered under warranty, are only the ceramic parts covered?

for normal use but not for dropping but you can always check with your dealer
-
I am not sure any of it is covered when dropped.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll have to add a new one to my Christmas wish list.
-
or you can JB weld it

Call Bruce in Customer Service. He's replaced a few things for me just because my parts were old style and he sent me the new and improved grid and rings with hinge for my mini. I paid only shipping.

I'm not being unkind here, but why should BGE replace anything that was broken due to user error? "Stuff" happens...Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

Get excited checking your food?

Tammy, it's not clear to me how it fell:
(a) you dropped it, (b) it fell during normal use because it was too loose and/or the dome opened too far.
imho, if it's (b) then BGE should be responsible, especially if the egg was almost brand spanking new (can't blame user for lack of proper maintenance or wear and tear).

I totally agree if it was my fault. But when we bought the egg at the TExas Eggfest, we asked them why the daisy wheels were falling off (on all of the new ones, not just mine). They said after a few uses it wouldn't happen any more. We already had an XL from the year before and the dw has never fallen off, so there is something different about the dw made in 2010. We added some gasket felt around the top after it fell off and cracked and it hasn't fallen off since. I was going to just let it go, but now it's rusting in the cracked area. That's why I decided to look into getting it replaced.

It fell off the 1st time I used it after buying it at the Texas Eggfest. We noticed the daisy wheels falling off many of the eggs while we were there and they said it wouldn't do it anymore after a few cooks. The dw has never fallen off our XL which we bought the year before. This was our 2nd egg purchase, and I think they changed the dw in 2010 b/c I've heard otehrs talking their's falling off.
