I always enjoy Thanksgiving weekend. There's nothing like spending some time watching a couple guys pound stuff into a bird. Then I turn off Cinemax and go into the kitchen to cook a turkey or two.

BULLETIN: I just turned on my television and learned that the fat man will be with us through the holiday season! Apparently there was a report on some South Bend TV station, WGOD. They're saying that the big jolly guy whom we all love to watch on TV will still be spreading joy to people in Indiana and around the country, heck, around the world, especially Ireland. People said he wasn't getting the job done anymore and that maybe he should be replaced. But they were wrong and that's a big relief.

So I'm thrilled to let you know that we'll still have Santa Claus.

Okay, let's get back to last weekend's exciting college football action. There were a lot of traditional matchups over Thanksgiving weekend. Of course over the years many of the more famous matchups have been shifted around. I was looking all over the place trying to find out when my Pitt Panthers would face off against Penn State, but I guess that must have been on ESPN3 or something.

Due to shifts in league memberships, new traditional games have developed. For instance, LSU lost another tough one at R. Kansas. Normal Kansas pulled an upset over Missouri.

Alabama shut out Auburn to reclaim possession of that most famous medical invention, the Iron Bowel. Florida bombed Florida State to take first place in the SEC South. And Cincinnati beat Syracuse to clinch the AFC North.

The biggest games were in the Big 12 South and the Pac-8. At home in Austin the Texas Aggies crushed A&M. Meanwhile, the goofy crossover games left everyone confused. Oklahoma got revenge for their controversial loss two years ago and pounded Oregon State, keeping the Ducks out of the Rose Bowel. Meanwhile Oregon visited Ohio State and blew them out. Ohio University apparently played in at T-Bone Pickens State, but I never did get that score.

In the end the whole thing thoroughly messed up the BS rankings. Apparently Oklahoma edged out Texas in first place votes, 45-35, so they get to move on while John Mackovic Brown will get to do more TV interviews.

Also, in the most famous of intersectional rivalries, USC and Pete Carole really poured it on against their famous former running back Charles White and his Notre Dame squad.

I've been saluting the Song Girls on their anniversary and I'd like to recognize Janie from the 1981 squad. In the Larry L Smith era the Trojan program was famous for its use of subterfuge. 10 years after she graduated Janie was sent out to perform a mata hari role as she infiltrated the Notre Dame program, under the pseudonym Kim Dunbar.

Unfortunately for the Trojans, they kept on losing to the Irish as the only players who lost eligibility thanks to Janie's shenanigans were scrubs. Seems that Janie had spent a bit too much time in the sun and she was more leathery than Joan Rivers' thighs (trust me, you don't want to know).

Thus the star players for the Irish wanted nothing to do with her--they were even willing to settle for SMC girls instead. Coach Smith was soon fired and Janie moved on to do bird-stuffing movies for Cinemax. See, it all comes full circle.

Had another plumbing alert that required a certain amount of expediency. Made it in time and handled it in my usual fashion.

The same with confirming the illumination of the refrigeration unit's illuminator. Working just fine.

Security also appears to be in force in spite of, let's just say, 'conditions.' Yea, I know, I've got to tackle that issue one of these light periods. It's just that things here at the Ranch have been a little busy lately. There was that Thanksgiving thing with the out-of-towner's doing all they could to eat up all the food we cooked for 'em, but they failed, thereby leaving the Ranch staff to consummate it as best we can. Still working on it but there's only so much you can do to leftover turkey. However, I Egg-Wok'd some with a variety of cut up bushes and it was Eggcellent.

Then right after the Thanksgiving thing, the Ranch Madam and I celebrated the poker game from thirty-five solar rotations ago, you know, when I won her down in New Orleans. We celebrated with a soft evening at home with, you guessed it, some leftovers from that Thanksgiving thing.

And now I'm in the communications center where it's pretty clear that the 7 Members and 123 Guests have little to chat about. Good, I'm not in the right frame of charge to read reports all dark period anyway. So back to the recharging station I go.
No plumbing alert this time. Just couldn't remain in the recharging unit while feeling fully charged and rearing to go. There are two more sections of said pie available for intaking but then I'm going to have to cease and desist due to a growing excess of me. Somebody should have advised me that pecan pie increases people. Fat people are the last to learn.
Not much going on so I plan to make this report short. The refrigeration illuminator and perimeter security are good and I see no reason to spend more time in vertical mode when I can switch to horizontal mode and just hope that dreamstate will arrive shortly thereafter.

Good morning Eggheads, Eggspecially those who are thinking more and bigger Eggs would be a good thing for the future.

Plumbing alert went off for the second time since mid-dark, so this time I decided to follow my usual duty routine, after de-pressurizing the plumbing system of course.

First of all, I have to traverse lightly about the abode because we still have DNA duplicates about. They are recharging at the moment and apparently are not hampered with plumbing issues. Even so, they have a canine member that is sensitive to the slightest sounds. So there is a strong need for stealth and noise abatement. So far I have been both stealthy and noise-abated.

I took the time to check the illuminary in the refrigeration unit. It took a bit of searching because the inventory of excess consumables has grown considerably and is now blocking light emissions from the illuminary. After some anxious base time periods I was able to confirm its operation.

I checked perimeter security via the external viewing portal and found nothing to indicate anything was amiss. However, I reminded Deputy Larry Ropa to be more vigilant and to spend less time sitting on his down. Apparently he is taking this 'retirement' thing seriously. Thus, I need to make a decision on re-activating Rodney Dangerbird. "I'll think about it tomorrow," as Scarlett O'Hara is fond of saying.

Finally, I moved into the Ranch Communications Center and read a few Eggent's reports. There has been a noticeable de-numberization in the reports now that the 'Day of the Turkey' has passed. But I must say there was definitely an abundance of reports from Eggents (many with pictorial stimulation) of successes in their home-based culinary attempts during the previous light/dark periods. Some Eggents have expressed the need to requisition larger or additional Egg Shaped warming devices which, as all Eggents know, is the weapon of choice for our taking over this planet. I suspect they will attempt to obtain said warming devices prior to the upcoming culinary repeat performance period. As Martha would say, "That's a good thing."

I took the liberty to mathematically accumulate the active Egghead participants on the Forum and found there are 8 Members and 87 Guests on board but not all are in a chatty mood. I believe I can stealthy return to my recharging station and leave the Forum in their care.

Say goodnight Leroy.

Two days ago I put some new polls up on my site, I wanted to wait for 100 folks to vote so I could get a good sampling. That happened today..... Questions were "What are you cooking" and "What are you cooking on".

The results, according to my visitors, are 84% are cooking turkey, and 52% are cooking on a BGE. Ham came in second and drum smokers tied with ovens.

These will stay up a couple more days then I'll move into more holiday type polls.

A couple weeks ago I caught the American Test Kitchen show (whatever its called) just as they were icing the turkey for a test. They liked that idea. But the other thing they did was to cook the bird with the breast down for part of the cook, thereby better controlling the overcooking of the breast meat.

Ever try it? Any thoughts even if you haven't?
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

This unemployed executive wants to tell those with any negative thoughts in their minds today that EVERYONE has something to be thankful for...I have two wonderful kids (both home this weekend) and a wife that has spent 23 years putting up with me...late this afternoon we will take the turkey off the grill, sit down and thank the lord for what we have been given; at the top of the list our health and each other and friends all over the world that use forums like this to share common interests. God Bless you all as you share this holiday with your families. So, when a joke or jab comes your way on the forum, enjoy...for in the scheme of things this group overall seems to be a pretty fortunate group of individuals based on what I see posted every day. Good things happen to good people overall...
God Bless you all
Tony (Jenny, Derek, Megan, Scoop (the 32# cat), Jack, Jordan and Geno (the rest of the animals).
